Duck...Duck...Goose!

Oh, how I wish I would have remembered to bring my camera to church tonight!! We didn't have a service. Instead it was "Family Night." You know; bring lots of food and somebody extra to eat it all. (How come my "extras" are always more kids? 3 this time!) I made chicken enchiladas, Brianna made chocolate cake and one of her friends made the corn. As the kids finished eating, they went outside to play in the backyard neighbor's yard (yes, with their consent. Thank you neighbors!!) while the grown-ups got to just fellowship. After clean up was done and most of the tables and chairs were put up, Bro. Robert brought all the kids inside and had them sit down so he could tell them a story. Even the adults stopped talking . I think we were all just so shocked at the kids sitting so still and quiet! It didn't take too long to realize he couldn't come up with a story, so several people took turns telling some. It was great; we just needed the campfire! But, with all the kids sitting in a semi-circle on the floor, someone got an idea. Lets play duck, duck, goose! Picture a large woman with double knee replacements (Not me...I heard that thought!) going around the circle...then running from the child...she made it...but couldn't sit down! Then the kids took over for awhile, and it was hysterical! But Robert couldn't stand being left out! He goosed someone and got caught, so next time he got me! I had been sitting innocently (really! I have witnesses!) by Sis Black and had to chase him around the circle a couple times and even through the circle...but I couldn't catch him! All those kids are my SS kids and none of them even tried to help me...they could have tripped him or something! My fault...I teach them that cheating is a sin. *sigh* The game went on for quite awhile before anyone bothered to look at a watch. The kids I brought were already an hour late getting home!!

Next Wednesday, we will start doing our SS during Bible Study and just have one big HBO (Holy Ghost Blowout) service on Sundays at 2:00. So if you ever find yourself in Chattahoochee........
Wed will also be Brianna and maybe Jaren's last service here until mid August. She ~maybe they~ will be going to MO to visit their daddy and grandma until school starts. I've never been without my kids. I don't know if I should cry or shout for joy to have a quiet house...nobody screaming in the night, not finding two extra bodies in my bed most mornings, no complaining about my cooking. Hmmm... Shout! No hugs and kisses, no contagious laughter, no precious babies....Cry....At least they're coming back!!!

I'll leave you with the song that's lifting my heart tonight. I haven't heard or thought about this one in years! I just suddenly started singing it when I was taking the other kids home:
Living He loved me. Dying He saved me.
Buried He carried my sins far away.
Rising He justified; freeing me forever.
One day He's coming back. Oh, glorious day!
